Can I rename trillian.exe during the install to something inconspicuous so that my IT guy won’t be able to find it when he looks at my pc? Or will this mess up its functionality?
Thanks!
Well the worse that can happen is that it doesn’t work, and you have to rename it back. But even if it works, the connection’s Trillian makes to the internet should be obvious to your IT guy (if he’s worth his salt).
He’s a consultant, we don’t have onsite f/t support. He just did a log of what was on each machine then cleaned them..so I want to make sure the same name doesnt show up.
In that case, an alternative would be to load Trillian on a memory stick and run it from there. This gives you the added advantage of being able to take your entire Trillian configuration with you and use it on any computer with a USB port and an Internet connection.
Ohhhhh…the deceit…I LOVE IT! That’s a GREAT idea! I might have to use it if our PC’s are ever updated to ACCEPT memory sticks!
Wow that is a great idea on that link you provided Jeff. I had never thought of that. I’ll definitely be doing that soon.
I split off the unrelated Trillian Vs. GAIM topic.
