ParticipantThis topic has been covered frequently venkatydp, if you want more information run a search and see what you can find. I personally don’t approve of using IP’s in order to gain personal information about a person – especially location.

ParticipantIf your friend is being stalked you need to contact the authorities and/or email abuse@yahoo.com (if this is related to Yahoo)

KeymasterI posted something about this in another topic, but I thought it might be helpful to repeat some of it here.
I’ve had someone harassing me on the phone, by mail, and online since May of 2002. This person will not stop calling me and sending me online messages and letters, even though I have asked them numerous times to stop.
I contacted the local police where I live, as well as the police department located where they live which is in another state about this several times last summer, but attempted contacts have still continued.
I also contacted http://www.wiredpatrol.org an organization that provides information and advice for victims of cyberstalking and harrassment.
They advised me that seeking relief through the courts is probably the most viable and potentially effective course of action I could take.
So I think Shifter’s advice about contacting your local authorities is good. Wiredpatrol also has a help chat room if you need assistance right away, or just someone to talk to.
