I just got a new computer and with it the newest version of YIM..
When a buddy and I wanted to share a YouTube video before, I used to receive (or send) a link in the conversation window, which I (or they) would click on, and then be able to view it in another seperate window.
But now, the YouTube player just shows up in the conversation window… with a lot of code before and after it… I don’t like it like this…
as messages are entered the player scrolls up out of view…
I just want to send/recieve the YouTube link, like I used to… not the YouTube player
I looked through preferences, settings, etc… and searched the forum and didn’t find this already discussed.
Help, please… Thank you. 🙂
PS: I am sure I diid not enter the “embed” code… just the link – but it still “embeds” it….
You can’t.
Yeah it doesn’t seem possible right now. I’m kinda looking into this thing it should be somewhat possible it might be off in the core or something.
Yeah, I don’t like it either to be honest. But I click the little arrow by the link and any future links that come in appears as a link without loading the little player unless I click the arrow again.
add an extracharacter to the link so it is incoorect then it can be copied and pasted at the other end
That’s really not needed. Just click the little arrow on the right end of the link and it won’t enable/show the integrated player anymore – just the link with the option to show the built-in video player.
I could add it as an option to ad destroy to remove it by force lol
