Hi all buddies,
I have installed AIM to my workplace win xp box. The chating with buddies works fine but not the video chat. I can do the video chat within the office network (Firewalled and NAT by netscreen 5xp which seems like not support UPnP). I guess it’s the nat problem.
Any body have overcome this by any way? By install add-ons? or change the policy on the firewall?
Regards
Video AIM does not work for me @ all with anyone on my buddylist, its kinda weird.
hmmm. I would talk to your network admin. Really I am supprised that you have aim at all at work.
hmmm. I would say b/c of the volume of data a vidio chat creates, the fierwall prevents it from taking place. I would talk to your network admin. Really I am supprised that you have aim at all at work.
That’s generally not how any firewall works, and you should not be surprised.
Video IM requires an open port on your network, so the remote computer can create a direct connection to you. Either talk to your admin about getting a port opened to your computer (or everyone that you want to Video IM with will need a port opened), otherwise there is nothing you can do.
so what is the list of port that need for aim video netmeeting?
