MemberMy friend’s password of Yahoo was maliciously stolen and, unfortunately the answer to the security question changed as well.
She said that this ID was of vital importance in which there’re many unforgettable sweet memories.
It would be highly appreciated if anyone could tell me how to retrieve a lost Yahoo ID.
Thanks a billion.

MemberVictory,
First of all Yahoo will not allow you to change your secret question or answer unless you know the original secret question and answer. In order to change your secret question, you’d have to answer numerous questions and give the correct answers for the original account.
Such as first you’d have to go the site below
my-login-request@yahoo-inc.com…
Then you’d have to answer the following questions :
Your Yahoo! ID.
The zip code you gave when you registered for the email account (non-U.S. residents should include country).
The birth date that you provided at registration.
The alternate (non-Yahoo!) email address listed for your Yahoo! ID.
Your current password question and secret answer (exactly as you entered them at registration).
Your new password question and secret answer.
Please note: The punctuation, spelling, and spacing of your new secret answer are important. We will copy the secret answer exactly as it appears in your email.
Basically what I am saying is in order for your friends id to have been stolen and their secret question changed, Your friends password would have had to be extremely easy and he or she would have had to give out the original secret question and answer ( something I am almost positive no one in their right mind would do )
Answering the questions above with the original secret question and answer would get your friends account back but without that information you are out of luck.

MemberThanks, Carriemeawayplz.
I see what you mean. Probably she’s virused a keylogger or a Trojan that stole Yahoo’s password.
For the secret question and answer, now I can’t say for sure whether she exactly remember the original ones.:)
Thanks, niq6566.
I’ve read and translated it for her since my friend isn’t an English speaker.:)
Yesterday my friend found that someone was using her lost ID…:(

Membermost likely your secret question has not been changed but the zipcode has, going to take some time but you going to have to go thru all the diffrent zip codes to get the account back, when you call yahoo thay will not give you the information you need without the correct zip code and the email addres has probly been changed too, so you will get no help with yahoo support. Good luck… and make sure you have a crack proof password

MemberThere’s a program that can decode the cookies, your friend might get decoded while she do chat in the chat room.
If someone decode her cookies, most likely the person able to get the information from the account, like: BOD, ZIP CODE, COUNTRY.
My advise, IF the ID is really worth to fight for, Go call Yahoo! Customer Service, give them the original Information for the ID, tell them that you have too many contacts information on the e-mail, BUT you have to remember everything about the ID beside the Account INformation, like you have to know exactly who is in the friendlist, what is the Alias ID on that account, ect.

ParticipantYou cant just grab a cookie from a person in chat, it’s used at login only.
Chat2 is basically a Cookie login that uses a hybrid YMSG protocol.
Old exploits to do with cookies don’t work anymore.
And you can change a secret question but it requires a creditcard and fully refundable charge of $1 to yahoo!
As anyone requiring old id’s back you must remember your original details, Yahoo! save these to your userbase, even after many changes.
🙂
