MemberHello guys,
well I have something new for you. It’s called HyperYM and it’s a great utility for Y!M. It can do very many things! Please be patient and read this, it’s really something new! If you don’t like reading so much you can just go and read summary of this Yahoo! utility from softpedia.com:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Chat/Other-Chat-Tools/HyperYM.shtml
I also attached a ZIP file with the latest version here. The program has 2 main uses: status manager, and robot answering machine.
1. powerful status manager. It can;
– save unlimited number of statuses
– you can define dynamic statuses which show what you are listening to in your favourite player. It currently supports: Winamp, BSplayer, and foobar2000.
– it’s not like you imagine. It doesn’t just change your status and shows the song title. You can format your status to show absolutely everything you want, and the way you want it:
—- bitrate, sample rate, track length, track position, playlist length, ASCII progress bar, if the audition is mono/stereo…
– it supports the maximum status length (245 characters!!) No more truncated statuses because of old but popular plugins (You know what I’m talking about).
– you can also shw in your status the current time!
—- you can format your status to show exactly what you want, for example you can show what you are listening and the current time!
– you can define a countdown and your status will show the time remaining!
– you can use a set of messages and include them in your status, and set a refresh interval after which a new message is picked randomly or succesivily from that set!Practical examples:
You define your status as
%mT% %cH%:%cM%
Your status will look like this (song title and the current hour and minute):
Boney M – Jingle Bells 16:07or:
%mTB% %mT% / Today’s date is: %mD%
produces smth like:
Boney M – Jinle Bells / Today’s date is: August 21 2005This are just very basic examples, there are about 21 macros that you can use like this, and your status will refresh automatically when one of them changes.
You can also use busy or idle icons with the status.
The program lets you also choose one of the 9 predefined Yahoo! Statuses, + you can set invisible mode.2. Robot answering engine
— it works with Y!M 6.0 and 7.0
— you can set an answer for each particular ID.
For each ID you can:
set an normal answer
set an answer if the conversation began with BUZZ
choose to answer yourself (as such you can have the robot respond just to some)You also have the
ID which refers to all others you did not set rules to. Oh, and yeah! You can use in your answers any one of the macros that you can use in your dynamic status!! As such, you can have dynamic answers.
Example:
answer format for foobar21:
“hello %ID%, I am currently listening to %mT%, I’m not here but should be back in %rM% minutes. kthxbye”and you get a message from foobar21
foobar21: yo there
me: hello foobar21, I am currently listening to Boney M – Jingle Bells, I’m not here but should be back in 32 minutes. kthxbyeYou can define an alternate answer for conversations which begin with a BUZZ. In that case, you can also use the macro %buzzOff% which will contain a randmly chosen antiBuzz message 🙂
You can edit the fil buzzOff.txt to change or add antibuzz messages, and then use from the menu Refresh buzzOff to reread the file.3. Options
– can launch at windows logon
– choose to start robot at program launch
– can choose to automatically close the conversation windows which began with a BUZZ (the window will close AFTER the message was automatically sent by the robot. also, the caller will see an alert message that their BUZZ message was not visible by you)
– can choose that the window to which the robot responds minimize to tray (but not close, just minimize)
– can choose date format (for use with the date macro %mD%HyperYM minimizes to tray. To exit, right click tray icon and Close. If you close the window, the program will also minimize to tray, and you can also exit from it from there.
If you are wondering why is it already at version 1.15.71, well, this software was originally created in Romanian, and just recently included support for translations.
Enjoy 😎 There are many things to be said and explained, but I trust that you will understand how to use this original program, i mean just read the tooltips and right click on text areas…

MemberOk, the official english page for HyperYM is done.
http://numedecod.ro/hyperYM.php?l=en
You can also download from there latest BETA’s also. Latest beta is HyperYM 1.21 SE and (despite the name!) can change the status also in Google Talk. Some proposed the idea of changing the name in HyperIM, what do you people think? 🙂

MemberFWIW, I use and recommend HyperYM. 🙂
It perfectly solves my longstanding problem of wanting more than just FIVE pre-set status messages available.
(And gosh, it does a heap of other interesting stuff too, if you want it to 😉 )September 25, 2005 at 6:08 am #128271EliteNick
MemberVery nice, however the newest version crashed on me as soon as it opens 😐
