I have been getting booted by the same person over and over!
Her ID is halo_loves_johnny_knoxville. It is driving me insane!!! I have installed YTunnel and about 45 different firewalls (ok a bit of an exagerration but it feels like that many!) But halo_loves_johnny_knoxville and her friend JuicyGirll still manage to boot me! Any suggestions?Also I would love to give everyone a link to my home page- since I am new here. If you hate “trolls” it is a great site! (Not to be spamming or anything)
http://ivebeena_bad_bad_gir.tripod.com/messingwithtrolls/I don’t think a firewall would prevent you from getting booted. Ytunnel blocks MOST boots, there will always be ways around it. My advice to you, would be to not hang in the same chat rooms as this person, and to switch the id that you use, and also if you are gettin booted a lot, use Invisible mode on messenger. If u don’t want to switch ids, you can use the java version of messenger, or you can d/l a chat client, theres some off the yahoo! links on this site.
Y!Tunnel exists as a proxy to filter inappropriate packets, i.e. those containing bootcodes. But as it cannot know all codes, it lets many through, which causes messenger to crash with overflow errors and the rest. Chat clients work differently, bootcodes are usually codes which exploit bad parsing of html (fade/colour/html tags etc…), and also because Yahoo! Messenger uses a IE interface, it has to do a lot of removal of tags manually.
Firewalls will not at all help in the prevention of booting.
Are these b-jatches getting you even when you are not in the room? First off…it might be the SAME person using two different ID’s. She/they may have you on her/their list/s. You can try the deny-a-buddy method along with the other very good options the others have already offered you. http://backdoors.to/yahoo then go to the deny-a-buddy link on the right hand side of the screen…log in…and do your bidding. Plus, Gaz seems to have your back…..(Gaz just be sure that juicy girl does not start attacking you…not that you couldn’t handle it!)
Thank you all so much! I am almost completely sure they are not the same person. But they have driven me crazy! And they have been booting me just when I log on as well. I am so glad I found this place- since yahoo! is how do you say?… unresponsive.
ack she is up to it again! I just got booted when she entered a room. I would leave the rooms she is in- but all of my friends are there! Please help! (I Denyed her as a Buddy- monthssssss ago)
Ok….re-ignore, take off the status thing from your profile, put HER on your permanent ignore list in messenger AND either stop going into that room for a while OR use another nick and try not to give yourself away. You have to be persistent….she won’t go away over night.

We have a cloner/booter in Native American chat who has changed the good chatters id’s and boots repeatedly. This person is using 3 or 4 id’s at the same time. Anyone who doesnt have ytunnel is thrown right out. any suggestions? I do the newsletter for a Yahoo group and would love to put some answers in there for those poor defensless chatters. Oh and in the last newsletter I sent them all here to you guys for all the yahoo questions. TY you guys are great!
Booting is so childish and annoying, I hang in Indiana chat and theres a guy in there who has his own site an makes booter programs and claims to be some elite hacker. Well he booted the wrong dood, maybe it ain’t right but booting really strikes a cord with me, i cracked his name, and i sent fair warning to all the people on his friends list that they better watch out who they boot. They have their own booting site and it is really popular in Indiana chat, they have programs that can knock you off even if you are using ytunnel, a lot of people look up to this guy and worship him, when he is a nobody in the scheme of things. Booting annoys the heck out of me, because they actually think they are accomplishing something.

I know what you mean, there’s a program called Mothership out which is very annoying, in y!mlite with certain settings on you can be “booted”
When in y!mlite Menu > Yahoo > Login, if you select “DHTML” down at the bottom and then simply turn on “accept pms from friends only”, you are almost indefinitely safe from booters…

just download ymlitefull.zip and extract with full paths on as it needs all the images for the smileys, and sounds and avatars, if not you will get “file not found” error messages while running the program…. until yahoo sorts out the YMSG server boot problem, you have to use DHTML (CHat2) option when you login…..
