ParticipantHello and welcome to BBB! I’m afraid I’m not going to be able to answer your question in a way that will help much.
AIM (at least as far as I know from the verions I’ve used) does not store your conversations on your computer. That said, there are any number of third party programs which can be installed that will save them and/or will provide information on your online activities. AOL has parental controls available, but those activity reports only show what sites you’ve visited and IM conversations you participated in, it does not show with whom, or what was said.
I’m glad to hear your parents are concerned with your online safety and want to want to make sure it is a safe experience. However, without knowing how they are vieiwing your activities, there’s no way for me to know just what they can or can’t see.

ParticipantPat, I guess you haven’t used AIM for a while. The versions since 2006 have had logging built-in.
Starfire, which version of AIM are you running? If AIM Lite, the logs should by default be in My DocumentsAIM Logs
If AIM 6+, it would be My DocumentsAIMLogger
You can check the Settings Menu to see if they’re being stored somewhere else.
Note that it’s still possible for logging to be done at other levels. You can stop some of these by using the latest version of AIM which connects with encryption by default.March 15, 2008 at 8:16 pm #167009Doris Kenney
ParticipantSorry – it’s been a long time for me since I’ve used it. It’s not my preferred choice for IM at all. I guess I’ll have to check on it tho, my son uses it and as much as he’s on he’ll fill up the hard drive with saved convos if I’m not careful!

MemberI am glad that my parents are into my business when i cant handle something on my own but there is a time and a place for that, however when i am talking to a guy and he gets a little out of hand with stuff, i would not like them to assume things right away….so basically as of right now I believe that I have 5.9 and if i dont have that then it is 6.0 but its not Triton…..but i need to know how to get to my files and see my conversations in order to delete them, now I am sure that my parents have controls and stuff but I need to get those controls or something cuz i dont know what to do right now
