last chance is here…i searched all over the internet..and i see this problem isnot solved yet! so..i cannot use my audio and video with msn forever?:woot: !
i have now the msn live beta….but still the same proble with 7.5……so its the same to me now!
i can send recorded voice with no problems….and emotions winks…every thing!
but when i go to setup audio and video..error message says unable to run it in this time!!(so when? stupid message) but! i can run my webcam setup!
i have adsl with one computer..no router or firewall!
i like to know what the problem is! my ports are closed or what?
thanx for any ideasFebruary 2, 2006 at 8:10 pm #137488Eagle_Kiwi
MemberSounds puzzling, Leo 🙁
You say no firewall… but… I guess you DO have the builtin XP one on ?? (not that that SHOULD be a problem, I don’t think).And I guess the Error Message doesn’t have a number, or anything useful other than “can’t run at this time” ?
And I also wonder, do you have any OTHER audio or video programs, that DO work ok for you ?

ParticipantTry this:
Click on start > control panel > network connections then right click on the connection you use. Click on properties, look for the QoS packet scheduler and uncheck it. Restart the computer.February 2, 2006 at 10:14 pm #137492hungryleo
Memberok then! first the QoS packet scheduler i dont find it…meybe i dont have this one( what the hexk is that??) i dont know it!
all i have that are checked are:
client service for netware
client for microsoft networks
nwlink ipx/spx/netbios compatible transport proto…
microsoft tcp/ip version 6
network monitor driver
internet protocol tcp/ipand the connection using : via rhine IIIfast ethernet adapter#
hmmmm more details for he problem…. no number of the error…its only says : unable to start sudio and video setup in this time!
my firewall is off! well…meybe its not off as i think..cause some times e-mule telling me that some of my ports are firewalled……even my xp firewall is off!!
is there away to know that?
when i use netmeeting or icq……its ok! not even one problem!!sound and video!and once msn 7.5 was working ok….it was before three months i think!
i donot know what happend then!
hope thats give you some more details….thanx for more ideas!February 4, 2006 at 1:25 am #137493hungryleo

ParticipantYou can try uninstalling msn 7.5 through the registry and then re-install it, this method seems to be quite efficient.
Instructions on how to do it can be found hereFebruary 4, 2006 at 7:09 am #137489Eagle_Kiwi
MemberI was surprised at all the Network Connections you listed, Leo.
You say u r just 1 PC, DSL, no router or anything fancy… yet there seem excessive?? “connections” there.AND I wonder why NO QoS thing!
I thought Prince might pick up on that – cos I’m no expert at all in this area.My system here which I just setup from new a month ago has only 4:
* Client for MS Networks
* File&Printer Sharing for MS Networks
* QoS Packet Scheduler
* Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
(I DO have router, ethernet connection, and DSL).Also, I always wonder in such cases, can you do audio/video on any OTHER IM program – which could exonerate MSN specifically !?

Memberto eagle kiwi….yes..i have icq..and the video and the audio works fine!
about the connection….i think i have too many things..but how to adjust it IF THATS necessary!February 5, 2006 at 3:14 am #137490Eagle_Kiwi
MemberFrankly, I’m too scared to even consider suggesting how to clear some clutter there! Network Connections always turns me to jelly, when I HAVE to ferret around in there. 😉
But I hope someone more qualified may assist you – even if it DOESN’T fix your MSN problem, seems to me would be nice to clean out some prehistoric red-herrings from in there anyway.
Good luck (and you’re welcome to contact me on MSN or ICQ if u like 🙂 )

MemberHello Hungryleo: I have experienced (and still do!) the same problem with audio on msn; be it v. 7.5 or Live 8.I thought it could have been a transatlantic problem; but even being in the same room/same country as a contact on my list did not give audio. The only way I could us msn webcam and audio chat was to open up Google Talk in a separate window. It’s only a bandaid solution; but after spending days upon days trying to fix msn audio, I had one nerve left and decided to spend it wisely – I gave up; lol 🙂 The end result was that I could talk with friends/family and that’s all that mattered. Good luck to you, Hungryleo!

MemberHey Leo.. if a GMail Invite is all you want, I think I have some, for friends 😉
Just email me (click my name, to see BBB Profile) with YOUR email address, and I’ll send one.February 6, 2006 at 4:20 am #137485princeG
ParticipantDon’t lose your hope and feel desperate that you won’t be able to use Msn at all. Since you have tried many things already and the problem has still not been traced, I would really suggest you to uninstall it via the registry as I posted in a previous post, and then reinstall it. You have nothing to lose.
