MemberI want to send an IM (not an away messege) to a buddy that’s off line so she can see it when she signs onto AIM. I do this all the time on Yahoo but can’t figure out how to do it on AIM. Thanks!

MemberThere is a bot called Doormanbot that can send messages to people who are offline so they receive them when they sign on. You can get more info at http://www.doorman.info/

MemberAIMOfflineB1 is also a offline bot that sends messages. If you add it to your buddy list though it won’t show up as online, it’ll always be offline but it still works just the same as if it was online if you try to IM it. I prefer DoorManBot though but the AIMOfflineB1 works just fine too.

ParticipantIt appears DoorManBot is no longer going to be available. From their news section:

“Why are the bots down?” “Why are the bots down?” “Why are the bots down?”. This is what i’ve been hearing for the past 2 weeks. Yes, the bots are down. AOL has been suspending accounts and we don’t have any way around this or a way to prevent it. Just like every other 3rd party addition to AIM, AOL is attempting to get rid of us. We are unable to keep the bots up without them getting suspended. So, until further notice… the bots are down, and they’re going to stay down. We apologize to everyone who enjoyed the service and thoroughly thank those who have donated to our cause. As of right now, the only way that they’re going to come back is with some sort of deal with AOL. We’ll keep you informed if anything new happens. Until then, feeel free to IM me on AntiBSD if you have any further questions or concerns.so… you’ll have to find some other means.

ParticipantThis is unfortunately true.
I will be attempting to find another solution, but they are down until futher notice. If anybody knows of a solution, please let me know (though I’m not too hopeful about that)
