KeymasterIve tried ai-buddy and all that junk and it doesnt work. Does anyone have any alternatives to ai-buddy? Also ive heard that you can somehow “trick” aol into thinking that you are signed on when you are not. And is there any way you can put your computer on sleep or standby and still keep your connection so that you can stay signed on?
Thanks…

MemberJust a question, Why would you want to stay on 24/7? What’s the point?

ParticipantWhile, by not sending anything to tell AIM you’ve signed off, you can stay online without your computer being quite there, you’ll only appear to your buddies as offline, and any messages to you will not actually be delivered, making it pretty pointless. ai-buddy, from what I know, should do the trick for you, or if you have a cell phone, you can have messages forwarded to that. Otherwise, you’re left with telling your friends to use DoorManBot2 or AIMOffline

Bandwidth, disk space, and servers all cost money, don’t expect anything free without ads.

MemberI’ve tried ai-buddy, it puts an ai-buddy link to the profile, is there a way of removing it?
Thanks

MemberThere is no way to remove the ai-buddy.com link in away messages and in profiles. And you can’t remove the link ads when you send IMs to others. You can’t see them when you type in your message, but the person that you’re sending the message to can.
