I would like to know who has used iChat and what do they think of it. I will probably be getting a Mac soon and I’d like to know it’s features, downsides, conveniences, etc. Any information would be appreciated.
Please be patient… there are not a lot of mac users here.
I am being patient. I haven’t posted again saying something like “hurry up” or “cmon guys”. I’m just waiting patiently for that one kind Mac user to come and give me his opinion :).
You looked so alone sitting, waiting…… tapping your fingers….
I thought maybe I could throw you something, here it is:-

I use iChat over AIM simply because of it’s integration with Address Book and Mail apps. I love Apple’s application design, which makes using it easy and fun. The latest version of iChat offers audio/video capabilities that simply work. Best results are with iSight – Apple’s own cam but any FrireWire cam will work just as well. Some minor issues have been corrected or changed in version 2 such as the single line of input text. This has been upgraded in version 2 to dynamically accomodate multiple lines. A note about version 2 is – it is still in beta and is free during that term. Once released in it’s final version – it will cost 29.99. iChat will however be free with Panther (10.3) Apple’s next major OS release. Which brings up a question which I will post as a poll.
