ParticipantFirst, I want to say that BBB has helped me with my other yahoo problems! You all are really great! In my opinion you all are the best forum out there.
I’ve seen posts on my current topic but not many replies. I hope someone out there is able to help me. Also, I’m not nearly as advanced as some of you guys are. So please keep it fairly simple for me…:).
Ok I tried to load an Imvironment and got the “unable to load-general error” message. I used to be able to load it but not since some of the new versions of messenger have come out.
I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled. I’ve physically uninstalled messenger and reinstalled. I’ve reinstalled the newest macromedia flash player. I don’t know what else to do. I had a problem with my audibles but the zip file fixed that..well, except the personals and the contender ones but that’s ok….thanks guys!!! My avatars work fine. It’s just the Imvironments. It’s really frustrating so if anyone has any CLUE how to fix this please, advise me as well…:crying:.July 7, 2005 at 9:28 am #125639Real World
MemberI have the same problems with the Imviroments with YIM 6.0. Sometimes they’ll load fine and sometimes I’ll get the error. When I was using YIM 5.6 they used to always load. Hopefully when YIM 7.0 comes maybe this will be fix.

MemberHmmm well this is a hard one to fix. I have seen many people with this problem and many people unable to find a fix. Yahoo sent someone a email stating that they have been looking into the problem for some time now. So who knows.
You can try to do this. Go to C:Program FilesYahoo!Messengerimvcache This is where used Imvironments are saved on your PC. Everytime you log in, Yahoo checks to see what Imvironments you have and if there are any new ones. It is possible that some of them in your imvcache folder got corrupted. Delete everything in the imvcache folder. Then reboot your messenger and see if that fixed it. Alternatively the same thing can be done for the audibles in C:Program FilesYahoo!Messengercache.

ParticipantThank you for the idea ToeBee. I had actually already tried that with both the audibles and the imvironments. It didn’t work. The only thing that’s worked for any of my audibles is downloading the zip file that’s floating around. The zip I have just doesn’t have the “personals” or “the contender” audible. Thanks for the idea though. I’m willing to listen to any. If I haven’t tried them, I will. If I have, we’ll just move on to the next possible solution. Soooo……ideas anyone??

ParticipantPlease don’t forget about me folks!!! I’m sure someone out there knows how to fix the Imvironments. I’m Windows XP, if that helps anyone. Thank you.

ParticipantHave you tried 7.0 beta to see if they at least load on that build?
Do you usually have problems viewing flash on sites?
Y! Messenger uses an IE control and im thinking you have service pack 2?
What setting is your IE security at?

ParticipantHi Dermot,
Yes, I do have service pack 2. I don’t think I have a problem viewing flash on other sites, if I do it’s not often. The IMvironments don’t work with the beta version either. I tried that before also.July 18, 2005 at 2:42 am #125637UnSaKreD
MemberPerhaps they are not being downloaded correctly?
Do you have any firewall products installed on your pc?

ParticipantYes, I do have a firewall installed. Do you think I should uninstall and reinstall messenger with the firewall off?

Zone Alarm is terrible for use with instant messaging clients, it blocks p2p activity, and the IMVironments need to use p2p.
So, its a possibility that your firewall is also blocking p2p thus not allowing the IMV’s to get through.
