I’m “in the market”, as they say, for a new camcorder. I’ve been stealing my dad’s whenever I need to use one, and now the firewire port on it is broken which does me no good. So I’m thinking about invisting in a new one.
Here’s what I want in a camera:
- Good Quality video
- Seamless connection to computer (I do a lot of video editing, this is crucial)
- Possibly a manual focus option
- Doesn’t necessarily have to be the smallest thing in the world
- Around US$500
If anyone has any suggestions, I’m all ears, cause I’ve never shopped for a camera before. 🙂
Whenever I am shopping for something, I always use PC Magazine’s online reviews. I find them to be excellent help 🙂
I started up a comparison list for you here using the filters “Digital camcorder” “less than $500” and I have them ranked from highest quality to lowest. You can change the search to whatever fits your specific needs. 😉
I can’t give any recomendations though, because the camera that I bought and would recommend cost $900. Plus the files on it are massive and not practical for a heavy load of editing. Every once in a while is great, but yeah, I am rambling. The best I can offer to you right now is the link to PC Magazine.
