Hi im new to this fourm and have a question bout invalid logins. Ive been a yahoo member for bout 5 yrs and had the messenger that long too, but since friday when ive tried to logon it says invalid user name or pass like i spelled it wrong or something. I even copy pasted my name and pass from word to the login page and it still says invalid login, but for yahoo mail yahoo games yahoo anything it works just not on messenger. I contacted yahoo and it said yahoo has been contacted about ur problem well no help from them so can anyone help me here?

what happens is that yahoo didnt see you as logged out. you tried to log in again.. and triggered a bot alert….
gotta leave it be to clear….I have heard this same problem from a lot of people, and i got banned from messenger for one whole day, a few sundays back, but if it’s not that, used to, yahoo would ban certain names from chat for no particular reason, and to get past this all you’d have to do is add an alias to your account, and sign in with it instead of the main id that you normally use, i had one name that was banned, and used this method, and now i can sign it in with the normal id. Another problem i had 2 or 3 weeks back was that if i signed off yahoo when i was still online, if i re-logged back in, it would say invalid password, and if it does that all you have to do is retype your password.
i have this same problem, my id is not usable , its for about 3-4 weeks and i think i must leave it alone forever !
Nhyrvana’s post above says it all. Stop trying to log into the account for awhile. Yahoo probably thinks you are still logged into chat, and if you continue to keep trying, it will ban you because it thinks you are a Bot. Use another nic for a while, then go back, try it once, if it doesn’t work, wait again. I know people who couldn’t get in for over 3 weeks.
If u were usen ytunnel that could be why log into the games server and leave the name on it for a while see if u can im it with another name try to log back in 4 or 5 times a day………it will work again in time……if u had more then one named logged in to a chat room that can do it too….
j_hop DAYM IT! not every one touches ytunnel. if you know so much then you should know that…..
if you knew anything at all about yahoo, and chat, you would know that its a common issue SINCE APRIL 28, 2002 …. to be locked out of your account for no darn reason.
why….? cause they changed the log in authentification then……. if you really knew yahoo as well as you say, you would know that.. stop hiding behind ytunnel …..
