MemberHi all
While in a chat room I will suddenly get the message “You have been logged out of chat. Go to another room to continue” or words to that effect. So I click on another room and nothing happens. So I log out.
On trying to log back in I get the usual box about trying again, could be wrong password etc.
Now this seems to happen if I’m logged in for more than about 4 hours or so. The username and password will become valid again after about 4-5 days. This happens on a very regular basis and with various ID’s I have. This is really bugging me. Anybody have any ideas.
Thanks

ParticipantI am experiencing the same problem.
I have created a number of userids. They are correctly created and I log in. After 2 minutes I get the message “You have been logged out of chat” and I can never re-login again using this id. I get “Invalid Username and Password”.
I sent numerous messages to Yahoo and got a auto-generated replies. They did not even bother to read the content of the email.
Any ideas? I am using Zonelarm. Using Yahoo Messenger 5.5 and this problem starting happening after I upgraded. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

MemberThere is a pattern. When you get the usual red font “You have been logged off chat”, lets say this happens on a Monday. I find that I can log back in on a Thursday. It always seems to take 3 days for the account to activate again.
I don’t see how a booter can be doing this.

MemberHappened again this week, like it does everyweek. Wasn’t in a chat room this time. I just logged off, 30 minutes later tried to log back in, got the invalid username and password box. 🙁
Well this happened on Monday afternoon, I expect it to be OK either today or tomorrow morning. We’ll see..
Well actually, just before I pressed post reply, I checked and as like clockwork. It’s fine again, I could log back in. It seems to lock me out for around 72 hours. Someone please explain….

MemberI have been looged out of chat too on many occasions. I sent an e-mail to Yahoo and got a reply:
Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Chat.
We have reason to believe that you have violated the Yahoo! Terms of
Service, and, as a result, you no longer have access to Yahoo!
Messenger
or Yahoo! Chat. For more information, please refer to the Yahoo! Terms
of Service, located at:http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/
Well that was bull!!! I replied saying that I had not broken TOS, that I had only logged into chat for a couple of minutes and then got kicked out. I am still waiting for the reply… that was a week ago … I have since then been able to log back in… but have been kicked out after about a few minutes … This might not be a lot of help but it sure makes me angry to think that Yahoo can’t get their act together and provide a better service and to reply to emails instead of sending standard ones with no explanation.December 21, 2002 at 11:54 pm #100303Jeff Hester
KeymasterNice way to cut down on the number of complaints, eh? Anytime someone complains, you lock their account. Pretty soon, no one dares complain! 😉
Oh, and they all switch you MSN Messenger. [:P]
Maybe someone from Yahoo will get the message somewhere along the way and shape up, but they’re so financially constrained (their stock price has taken a beating in the last couple of years) that they’re cutting back on services, not expanding. How long can you hold your breath?

Memberi know why yahoo doesnt send any proper responces. I heard yahoo and msn are going to merge. Thats why they refer you to msn and that explains the chimes my sister had on msn messenger which were from yahoo. If msn and yahoo merge a messenger then were gonna have to find a other messenger program besides you cant voice chat to a whole room on msn:mad::confused:

MemberOk I don’t know if this is going to be of help to you, but do any of you run Y!tunnel? When I installed it, I remembered a warning that opened for a few second about something in Y!tunnel causing a fault in messenger that can get your account locked.
I went to the website, and here is what it says :
Quote:“This was an unfortunate “bug” that caused Yahoo! to flag accounts as “spam bots” due to the PM and Invite privacy reply feature in Y!Tunnel builds 104, 105, 106, and 107. As of Build 110, this problem seems to have been corrected.
The best way to tell if you have been hacked or if your account was simply locked is to log in to email on that account. If you can still log into email or MyYahoo then the account was indeed locked. If you are unable to login on either email or MyYahoo then your account was hacked is most likely unrecoverable. “[/quot]Notice the words “seems to have been corrected”. HEre is the URL for the rest of the help section
I hope this helps.

MemberThat thing with your accounts being locked saying you have wrong name and pass but yet you know that cant be true……I notice it only does that to me if I join a room with more then 4 names….and yes it is yahoo doing it they do this to try and control the booting. bill gates has shares with yahoo and that is his little surprise to all the booters…..it works by blocking your yahoo cookie that is on your name….you can change your password all you like and it still wont work…I am working on a way around this by trying to find out how they block the cookie from your name and I will poste the solution once I figure it out…Laterz
