Blue1
MemberI’ve only seen one post on this topic so I’m not sure who else experiences the phenomenon.
When I log onto Yahoo I.M. in invisible mode, I actually show as visible for about a tenth of a second. Granted this isn’t a long time, but it’s long enough to show anyone who’s set up an “online alert” for my I.D. that I’m on, if only for a split second.
Any clues or suggestions?

KeymasterUse a different ID? If you don’t want to be contacted, or don’t want people to know you’re online, why connect at all? If there’s just a few people that you’re trying to, ahem, “avoid,” then you could just create a new screen name for use with the people that you really wanted to connect with. Just keep it private.

Memberthe online alert shouldn’t appear if you chose invisible from the login screen, even though you might on your own list show as visible.

Member*L* Jeff… Because I prefer choosing what person/people I’d like to spend some chat time with at any given time, invisibility affords me that flexibility. I can assure you everybody gets a turn.. *lafffffin*… just not all simultaneously.
Cool and Freddy have addressed my question with responses nicely devoid of patronizing innuendo.
Thanks, fellers.

MemberCan always use unbud/deny a buddy to remove your name from the other peoples lists if you really really don’t want them to know your status lol.

MemberI think invisible is for people who can’t stand up to others, basically cowards, if i don’t want to talk to someone i warn them once, then i block them, heck i’ve blocked friends of 2 years without even warning them, if theres some kind of problem, not only talking to someone on yahoo messenger, but in general every day life, the best thing is to just admit theres a problem, and then go from there, not avoid it and hope it’s gonna go away, i have argued with people on this forum about this issue more then once. Heck, i have blocked a handful of people from this site who have messaged me, and acted stupidly. I have fun figuring out when my friends are invisible, then messaging them. If someone didnt want me talking to them, i would hope that they would tell me, then i wouldn’t bother them again, and the problem would be solved. But instead most people will just avoid it, and this only makes matters worse.

Carb… Johnson… my reply to Jeff wasn’t simplistic enough for ya?T’was a SIMPLE question, requiring a SIMPLE answer, which I received from cool and freddy…*still impressed by their powers of perception*.
Johnson…. I bow to your extensive knowledge of all things chatlike/sinister but darlin’….methinks thou dost protest too loudly.

MemberYou’re not American by any chance are you? I’ve found that sarcasm always seems to go over Americans heads. =op
My partner always logs in as invisible and as Freddy has stated you simply need to tick the login under invisible box on the login box.
On a different subject whats the point of having statuses on MSN messenger when you can neither send nor receive MSN messages when away!!!

MemberOFF DA HEEZIE FO CHEEZIE MY NEEZIE! NAW MEEN?
LMAO, ok, first off you didn’t even ask a question, you made a statement then asked for clues or suggestions. From my mispent youth listening to gangsta rap i can decipher somewhat what your saying, but i bet the others have no clue. When you post in a public forum, you should really use proper english, when you talk like snoop dogg, it makes you look like white trash, and people will just want to make fun of you. If you want to be taken seriously use proper english.
I will give ya credit, most people doubt my skills and i have to bully them around a bit to show them who’s boss.
Maybe you could restart by asking a question here, in some form of the english language?

Member*chucklin’ like hell here*
Johnson… if you read carefully, you’d see that I stated twice that my question was answered by cool and freddy…therefore any further meanderings and ramblings on your part are not only redundant and boring, but specifically designed to gain the attention you so obviously require. OH… and before you even attempt to critique a person’s “language”, you should use spell check. You stink in that area. OH… and lettem make fun, darlin’.. if they’re houndin’ me.. it means they’re cuttin’ you some slack… *LMAOOOOOO*
Carb… the MSN forum is thataway… *jerks thumb to the left* OH and are you American by any chance? I’ve noticed that everything I’ve said has gone over your head, sarcasm notwithstanding.
*loads o’lubbin’ affection…. anna suggestion that Jeff now stop this thread before it gets any more ridiculous.

ParticipantAlrighty, this is the part where I say – “This thread has gone too far off topic…blah blah blah…this ain’t a chat room, ect….” soo…since Blue1‘s question seems to have been answered sufficiently this topic is deemed closed.
Fo shizzle. 😉 -
