Hello everybody, my first time posting here. I have questions, and to pay back the favor I’ll provide answers to others’ questions if my knowledge extends that far.
Anywho…
I was chatting on AIM and I was instantly signed off without warning. This was about 3 days ago. I send a message to a friend, and I’m instantly signed off. Signing back in has been really unsuccessful. Upon doing so I’m given an error saying “Incorrect password”. I use the Pidgin client so my password can’t be wrong if I haven’t changed it at all. Ironically, my friends tell me I’m signed in through mobile which is odd.
I haven’t given my password out, I’m positive my account wasn’t hacked as my password is impossible to guess. I haven’t violated any kind of ToS rules. I have tried to reset my password, but apparently my email is no longer in the database.
A friend of mine has access to the AIM network status at Sprint and he says the AIM network has been at a status of Yellow for the past two days. So I’m crossed with the idea that I violated something or AOL is having some serious server issues or maintenance.
I have pinged all major AIM servers to see if they exist, and all respond to ping except for the obligatory kdc.uas.aol.com. I believe the server is down or the server just doesn’t respond to ICMP requests, if that’s the case.
Is anybody else having this problem? Also, any help would be appreciated.
Thank you! 🙂
I’m not having any problems connecting to AIM, using either Digsby or AIM 6.9 on Windows (what else?).
Wow, Bill Gates posts at BigBlueBall? Who woulda thunk it? 🙂
