is it possible to have an away message for just one person?? i mean like instead of blocking them the away message just always appears, but you can still talk to everyone else just like normal? any help would be greatly appreciated

No. Unless there is a bot, no.
no. but what you can do is put up the away message and get on another screen name and talk to those people you want to talk to.
Or you could just Ghost (Click on the little button of an eye on your buddylist)? Its basically the same concept and accomplishes the same goal. Your avoiding the people you don’t want to talk to without blocking them but you can still talk to those you want to talk too.
Yea it makes you appear offline on everyones buddy list if you wanna do that.
Nope you cant do this… it’d be neat to have different away message for different people. But you cant do that either 🙂

You can… My AIM>>Manage Linked Screen Names. Changing the text in those boxes will make it so when you go away with your main sn… it will put up that away message.
In a future release, middle_man will have “safety away messages” which can do this for you. When viewing the away message by checking buddy info, everyone will see the same thing…but when the person IMs you, you can have custom away messages delivered to different people. For example, I could set my away message to “howdy” but when smarterchild IMs me, it would be sent “you stink” rather than “howdy” and if messageserver IMs me, it would be sent “I’m a fan of MS”.
