ParticipantProbably not man, the legalities have caused too many problems and too many tainted files on those networks. If you want my advice, bit torrents are the future of p2p.

MemberI hate BT…so hard to find the songs I want, and it takes forever to download 😡
Stupid legalities…they better not stop Limewire either.

ParticipantI only use BitTorrent for downloading very large files. For smaller video clips and stuff like that I use P2P (Ares). But Shifter’s probably right, and sooner or later I’m gonna have to be using bittorrent to download most of my files.
Ares better not be going down anytime soon. Fortunately I don’t use WinMX that much, but I just barely tried WinMX and yup, it won’t connect. 🙁

ParticipantIf you hate BitTorrents then you must try, Shareaza it’s a freeware P2P software. It’s not going to shutdown or face any restrictions by any court hearing as it is free ware.

ParticipantErr….doesn’t this kinda fall under the warez catergory? We really shouldn’t be talking about this…well what it became.

ParticipantErr..please don’t post if you have nothing to say.
P2P programs are generally okay to discuss as long as we aren’t specifically talking about using them for illegal purposes. P2P is not warez (although you can use it to obtain warez), it can be used for legal purposes, which we will ignorantly assume everyone is reffering to here. Right? 😉

Memberi still use kazaa, go to http://www.hackthesystem.net and go to the downloads and get the hacked version…it still works for me..and limewire pro is pretty decent..thats what i get most of my music and movies from..i hate bt’s… as far as p2p goes, just make sure that the filesize is accurate to others..its easy to get a virus from limewire and programs of that nature.

Memberyou can connect to the “new” WinMX network, which has been set up by loyal users. there are two differnet patches available. one of them modifies your host file the other is larger and modifies WinMX dll files. you can find the host files patch here: http://vladd44.com/mx/piepatch you can find the dll modification patch here: http://winmxgroup.com
the FastTrack network can be accessed through an adless up-to-date client called KCeasy (http://kceasy.com/) which is the Windows frontend for giFT (http://gift.sf.net/). you will need the FastTrack plugin which can be downloaded here: http://gift-fasttrack.berlios.de/
Limewire (http://limewire.com/) cannot be shutdown, especially since it runs on the Gnutella (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnutella) network. “The real benefit of having Gnutella so decentralized is to make it very difficult to shut the network down.”

Memberomg…thanks alot RU Still Down?
Finally, I can use WinMX again. I’m assuming it didn’t matter which patch I used, they both connect to the same network, right?
