MemberHey, I was wondering if it is possible or if there is a program out there, that will let someone that is viewing your profile when they get your information for it to automatically forward them to a website. It is possible, there just needs to be a program to do it. I came so close to executing a PHP script on my side through my aim profile without clicking on a link. What I did was have a local web/php server running, set my document root to where my profile was and have the web server see .htm as .php therefore info.htm could be executed as PHP. The problem is, aim’s **** browser does not execute it, however it did work in Internet Explorer. So my question is, has there been anyone ever before that had PHP or a web site load as soon as you get into somebody’s profile, without having to click a link? Or is there an AIM alternative that will let you have something like that as your information? Sorry for the long post.
Thanks

Participantas far as I know, aim’s profile viewer and servers dont allow anything of this sort… all they allow is the standard html file, and even then there’s not much you can put in it other than very basic html

MemberThe way you had the web server setup on that folder wouldn’t work because when someone views your profile that file is never accessed. When you sign on or when you update your profile, your info.htm is uploaded to AOL’s servers. When people view it, it is then loaded right from the AOL servers which only allow basic HTML.

MemberBut, what about when you open up a link inside the profile. That isn’t sent, so what if there is a program add-on to aim that could send an info.htm that just opens another site? The Same way Ostego adds the winamp information into your profile, it has to be possible to get something similar that lets you put scripts into it.

The “Profile browser” does not support script, there is NO WAY to do what you want. Otsego works by sending the update packet every time the Winamp song changes, it has nothing to do with what you want.
