Jabber Inc. has released two new libraries designed to make help developers leverage the XMPP protocol to develop Web 2.0 applications.
The two libraries make it easy for developers to add one-to-one or group chat capabilities to a website or push real-time data, delivering better performance than polling.
The libraries were developed in conjunction with Alex King’s company, Crowd Favorite. According to King, the new libraries could be used in any number of creative ways, including “chat in blogs or social networking sites, customer support portals in websites, or a notification application for live updates such as weather conditions, stock tickers, and breaking news.”
