ParticipantWell coolguyj2 it seems that you are falsely announcing a new version, as the RC versions are BETA’s, not the final build. Your download links are now useless anyhow, as the developers do not seem to like people linking to them. As a quick look on Kazaa Lite’s official site http://www.k-lite.tk will tell you – NEWS – Monday July 7th 2003 – The release date for Kazaa Lite 2.1.1 will be sometime in the third week of July. The current official version is 2.1.0. Next time make sure you have your facts straight before making an announcement.

Memberwell shifter!!!
the link is working fine with me!!! for your satisfaction I tried downloading it again and it worked!!! {dont right click on the link while downloading, just click it, then only it will be downloaded}
also, the ver I mentioned, i posted RC in the topic only, and for everyones convinience I even gave the official site for K lite!!! so, I think my facts were right!!! anyways, for future posts I will be more specific!!!July 8, 2003 at 12:11 am #60211shifter
ParticipantWell you should clarify in your announcement that this is not a final version and may contain bugs, and is possibly unstable. Most users do not know what an RC is, and would be downloading what they thought to be an official version. Considering all the potential problems a beta version can inflict, it is very important to let people know, no matter how well it runs on your particular system.
As for the downloads, I seem to be unable to download. I am not right-clicking, but following your links directly. I get a warning page displaying the following:

Stop Stealing Our Links ! Use our Search Engine !I have tried the mirror links as well to no avail. Ah well, I don’t mind waiting a few weeks for the final build anyhow.

Memberstrange problem!!!! b’cos I downloaded from there only!!! anyways you can go to http://www.neowin.net as theu have the link over there!!! and the s/w is working great on my system but as we all know beta ver can react diffrently on diffrent machines!!! but I think its worth a try

ParticipantYes, Neowin has the link to the Softnews.co links. Not much help. Thanks.

ParticipantIf you live in the US and share files on Kazaa, you should try this program!!
Thought you might like this, Kazaa K++ has released a new version 2.4.0 – very similar to Kazaa Lite.
Kazaa K++ is an enhanced Kazaa (KMD) with a lot of new features only available with K++. No spyware or adware!!
Some of the features are.
* (New!) Block RIAA and other organizations from connecting, downloading and uploading to you.
* (New!) K++ default options have been changed to protect your privacy. By default: * Bad IP ranges, eg. the ones from the RIAA and others, are now blocked automatically by K++ thanks to the PeerGuardian IP range file. K++ blocks all these IP ranges from ever connecting to you (both TCP and UDP), and the connections are closed immediately without them getting a single bit from you.
* No-one can get a listing of ALL your files through a “Find all files from this user” command (you’re still able to share, though).
* Port 1214 (aka Kazaa’s port) is disabled so no-one can scan your computer to see if you’re using Kazaa K++.
* Your search history isn’t saved in the registry.
More Info HereI’d recommend downloading from here as its the fastest mirror i could find.
{EDIT} Found an interesting article and video clip about Kazaa K++ on TechTV’s site, check it out!{/EDIT}

Memberwell Shifter u know what!!! Kazaa Lite was introduced to remove many drawbacks which Kazaa had…. It was free from any spyware or adware and the best adv was that it was lite on memory usage… It has much less memory consumption as compared to KaZaa!!! Infact any Lite version has less memory usage…. Also, KaZaa fails to run on Win XP ( my friend had this problem) while KaZaa Lite runs easily on XP…. So, I would advise KaZaa Lite
also who doesnt want 1000 free points and that 2 constant…. for increasing point above 1000, refer this link

ParticipantOK, I’m not sure what the hell your talking about, as I was recommending Kazaa K++ Not the official Kazaa. Kazaa K++ is very similar to Kazaa Lite except it was built by a different programmer, and has better security features, as outlined in my previous post. In fact it also does everything you just outlined in your post. Perhaps opening your eyes and reading before posting would help you.
Also I use Windows XP and have not had any problems running any version of Kazaa, official, lite or K++.

MemberWell here’s my input. I am a big kazaa user and I have stuck with the “official” kazaa for all my coputing life, but when Kazaa introduced their latest version (V2.5), all my friends either downgraded or, as i sugessted, use kazaa lite. now, there is a newer version than kazaa lite 2.1.1, there is now 2.4.0 and there is a download from the official K-lite website (http://www.k-lite.com). Srry Shifter, you need to stop tweakin out n listen to coolguyj2 a lil more carefully:D. Thx all!

I think I if have used Kazaa Lite (as u said it ran on XP) then dear me u need a closer look!!!
check this image which I made specially for you….
also, u gave a link to some article, if u read the article it clearly says
Dark Tip: KaZaA Lite K++ Edition
can u see the “lite” written!!!and thanx ruffdawg for the link, but the link is http://www.k-lite.tk and you can find the direct link for 2.4.0 at http://www.softnews.ro/public/cat/10/6/10-6-25.shtml
just dl it from there….
also, this version doesnt support “find more from the same user” and “resume all downloads” and some features which were there in 2.1.1 RC and older versions…. Its your choice, what toi choose, I am happy with 2.1.1 RC (let it be Beta, who cares)
njoy
nways shifter, no hard feelings and lets be cool (after all I am coolguy, 😉 )P.S. :- It is now been heard that K++ will no longer be a part of KaZaa Lite and will operate on its own… but previous versions of K lite had K++ in them!!! and I am pretty much sure about that…

ParticipantOk guys, I’m not trying to argue, I just wanted you to see that there are/were 2 versions out there. Although everyone seems to call Kazaa K++ 2.4 – Kazaa Lite K++, its actually a different app. Look how this new version does not mention Lite in the about, and its official site is http://www.kazaakpp.com not http://www.k-lite.tk

Anyway this is stupid arguing about this. They seem to have merged together now or something so it won’t matter. Yesterday http://www.k-lite.tk said that Kazaa Lite 2.1.1 would be the next version, and suddenly they have adopted Kazaa K++ 2.4 as the new one. So although the differences are very minute, they are/were different software. I feel safer using 2.4 now although I don’t share very much music. We’ll see what happens with Kazaa Lite/Kazaa K++.Quote:quote:also, this version doesnt support “find more from the same user” and “resume all downloads” and some features which were there in 2.1.1 RC and older versionssorry but thats falseas you can see below:

You do have the option of hiding all of your files from other users, but you can still use it on regular users.July 12, 2003 at 2:50 pm #60213coolguyj2
Memberokie shifter
thanx for the input!!!! well I read this discussion on http://www.neowin.net and over there it was written by some users who tried it and as u said K – lite is adopting K++ 2.4 as new version, so this might be a point of confusion b/w us…. so just be happy with what u use… I am happy with 2.1.1 RC
nways thanx -
