MemberI’m using the latest build of Yahoo! Messenger on my laptop and for some reason it keeps disconnecting me then automatically reconnecting me about every 15 minutes. It happens even if I’m chatting with someone. When it reconnects it shows me as offline so I have to manually disconnect and then manually re-connect to be shown as online.
I’m using a P4-M 1.7GHz laptop w/ 1GB RAM, Netgear wireless NIC and a new Netgear wireless router connected to my cable modem. I doubt the wireless network is the cause because I don’t have this problem when downloading for extended times or with other messenger programs. Plus the signal level is at excellent 99% of the time.
Anyone else having this problem?

MemberI’m having the same problem but not regular basis as you are. Im using pc at home and at work. My friend, on certain day, her pc disconnected and connected back for every 2-3 minutes! But she is using pc in her office.
Its so irritating when you just disconnected suddenly and did not know if the other party you talk to, had responsed to what you said or not. I just had to rely on message archive. 😡
I ‘d heard in the chat room saying that it all because our ISP side and the other said it Yahoo! server.. bla…bla…bla…:eek:March 8, 2003 at 5:56 am #97795rustedtight
MemberTemporarily swap to another service, Using Trillian is transparent to all users and reacts just like Y! but without the problems.
If after the swap the problem is gone then the answer is obvious.December 20, 2006 at 8:28 pm #97798ruffems
MemberI use trillian also and I still get the problem. this started for me right after I upgraded to IE 7
I’m suspecting its my work network becuase I do not get disconnected when using the hotel network or my home network.
I’ve chosen no network detection but that didn’t work for me.
any more suggestions. all other im’s services work except for yahoo.
