MemberIs there a way to log when people sign on and off of yahoo messenger? I know you have to be signed on, but when you aren’t at your computer to monitor the activity of the buddy list? I search the forum but didn’t come up with anything. Can someone let me know?

No, they want to make Yahoo keep track of (= log) contacts signing on or off.
As Tony said in his post, Trillian does this. Trillian is a client that supports AIM, ICQ, IRC, MSN and YIM (in one program).
As far as I know, there is no way to accomplish this with the official YIM client.

MemberIf you want to log when someone is online/offline with Yahoo messenger, you can do this if they are on your friends list. Just open up a message box to that person, and when they sign on it will give you the time that they signed on, until they sign off, then it will give you the time that they signed off. So if you are wanting to track someone, you need to open a chat window with to their id. Aim tracks people really nicely, shows when they logon, log off, and it keeps track every time they do so, as long as you have a message window open to them.

MemberI figured that out with aim, but with yahoo i dont’ like using trillian, I like using my regualr yahoo. See I can’t sign on in invisible mode with triallian like I can with yahoo, that is one of the big problems.

You CAN sign in as invisible on Trillian. Set your status to invisible there and it should retain it.

ParticipantDaisy,
Go to this link: http://personal.nbnet.nb.ca/uphome/yahoo.html
Download YTools. Second to last item. Included with that program is an online spy. You enter someone’s screenname and it keeps track of when they log on and off. 😉

MemberDoes this work if you don’t send a message and just open the message window to your buddy?
