I just got DSL on my computer today and downloaded AIM. The download and everything went fine, but for some reason I am unable to log on. I’ve been trying since about 10 o’clock this morning and still no success. It says “connecting” for a while, and then a message comes up that says “AIM service unreached”. Is this my computer or the AIM service that has the problem?
Actually it could be both, do you have a firewall installed on your computer/go through a router? Sometimes they block AIM and need you to allow AIM to access the internet. It would be easier to help if we knew what firewall, if any, and what router, if any.
Have you tried to Auto Configure the connection? I believe it is in Setup (from the sign-on screen) > Connection > Auto Configure.
