MemberI’ve been experiencing a problem that’s really annoying and more people can be experiencing the same, although probably not even noticing it!!
BWT, using (Windows Live Messenger 8.0 (0.0.0812.00)
Contacts will send u messages that u wont ever receive, or vice versa, and neither one or the other party will notice it.
You can only suspect there’s something wrong only due to the lack of logic in a conversation.THIS IS MAJOR ISSUE, I CANT TRUST MESSENGER FOR HAVING AN INPORTANT CONVERSATION ANYMORE!!
Does anyone know anything about this matter?

MemberHello Santunes,
Could you enlighten us with what version of Messenger you are running as well as internet connection type?
Does this problem appear to only happen with certain contacts on your list or all and any of them?

ModeratorHi santunes,
Welcome to BBB. Which part of the world are you from? I’m using the same version of WLM as yourself, and normally when WLM can’t send a message, it will pop up a prompt with a red X, saying that the following messages were not sent. I haven’t experienced any instance where the message is not sent and I am not informed.
The internet has been erratic over here in Malaysia (where I live) since the Taiwan earthquake of Dec 26, 2006. This has affected my WLM because once in a while I will type and send a message to a friend, and then WLM will say that the message cannot be delivered. I usually resolve this by sending the message once again.
I will keep an eye on this thread and see whether anyone else has the same problem as you.

MemberIm from Portugal – Madeira Islands.
I use a cable internet connection from a local cable tv provider (http://www.netmadeira.com).I use Windows XP SP2 with all patches/updates available. Installed O.S. about 2 weeks ago.
I have no router and I have Windows XP firewall on. No antivirus, anti-spyware or firewall. I haven’t installed any messenger plus or any other patch/add-on.
I have also seen that red warning that the message wasn’t delivered, but this is a different situation! NO WARNING appears, message simply doesn’t reach destination. IT CAN BE ANY CONTACT.
I have strong suspicions the problem occurs on both ways, but to date I’ve only been able to confirm the non-delivery of messages sent from my contacts to me (though I i’m pretty sure it happens the other way around, like sometimes I ask something to one of my contacts in the middle of a conversation and they dont answer or continue talking about somethin without even noticing my question).

MemberI have this problem too… nothing I’ve tried doing has fixed it. (WLM 8.1, Windows XP SP2).

ModeratorSantunes:
Look at this thread https://bigblueball.com/forums/windows-live-messenger/39132-bit-odd-advice-please.html You might want to contact your local cable tv provider (http://www.netmadeira.com) and see whether they can offer any assistance.

MemberI’m having the same exact problem.
It’s Jan 20, 2006 — Tried both 8.0 and 8.1; same issue. No one can contact me, I have to start typing to people and only then can they respond.
Whats going on??

Taking the steps listed here: https://bigblueball.com/forums/windows-live-messenger/38447-problems-contacting-adding-contacts-sign-freezing-read.html
Fixed the problem for my friend. Give it a try and see how you go.
Just found this website on google while seeking an answer to this problem for my friend, figured I’d register and let you know.
