MemberWell, looks to me like your name has been cracked and someone has changed your password. My question is, can you log into mail? or thru the main yahoo web site, or do you still get the same “invalid password” screen. If you can, go in that way to your account information and change your password.
If you cannot log in there, you will need to go to the password yahoo site and fill out the information you used when you originally signed up for the account. They will ask you for your secret question, birthday and zip code. If you don’t know this information, then I’m afraid you’re out of luck. Yahoo will not give it to you without knowing this information.

MemberThen I would say truly that you are out of luck there. Unless you can follow the name and ask them to give it back to you. Otherwise I guarantee there is NOTHING Yahoo will do about it.
My suggestion is that when you make a new account, make 2. Copy your friends list to the second account, save all your emails to the second account… and don’t give the second account to anyone. That way if it ever happens again, you have a backup.
Good luck

MemberGood advice, Netti. I was going to say always make a hard copy of your friends list so you will be able to add your friends to a new account in case your old accout gets hacked and stolen. And it’s always good to have a backup account anyway.

MemberAlso remember, there are programs out there that will allow you to copy your friends list from one account to another. There is no need to singly add each one individually.
It is a great program, and the more I read, the more I am finding that more people should have a backup plan.
The only offense is a good defense.
