MSN Messenger won’t connect. I click on the sign in tab and it starts to connect but as soon as it connects and everything comes on screen it drops out and on screen a message saying: ‘Your connection with the .NET Messenger service has been lost. Reconnecting in..’ However it just continues to go round in this loop. Sometimes getting further than previous times, others less further. I have tried a system restore to an earlier date, uninstalled programs, and have also tried a number of versions of MSN messenger and still the same occurs.
At first it was giving me error code 8100030D but that has stopped and it now connects for a second untill dropping out.
I have followed the numerous help topics which have included flushing the DNS, checking the proxies, and run all the .DLL files but still nothing. I have done MSN’s malware sweep and virus scans but nothing seems to have made it any better.
Help would gladly be apreciated.
Thanks
Tried re-installing?
Yer I’ve tried reinstalling it and have tried versions 7.0, 7.5, and the new live messenger. Same response every time.
Try (in the new live messenger) Theres a connection checker in the options dialog, maybe that will help…
I’ve tried that and everything gets the green tick. Thats whats so strange about. It will actually connect but only for a second before dropping out.
MSN technical support seem to think it could be that my firewall isn’t set to allow or the routers firmware is out of date but it isn’t any of these 🙁
