messenger webcam please help

hi, can you please help me with my webcam . I have recently bought a logitech messenger webcam . I installed the software drivers etc which included a version of yahoo messenger . when I started my cam it was fine , however when I try to view others peoples cams I got the following error : using incorrect version of software . Please update your software . I looked up this error on yahoo help and it advised that I download a newer version of messenger . I did this and made sure I installed cleanly .. I.E no virus scanning running or other programs . now everytime I try to start my webcam it wont start and just hangs messenger and I have to ctl alt dlt and end the program . So with logitechs version I cant view other cams and with the new version I cant even see my cam . I know my cam works coz i can use it with the logitech software and with msn messenger etc . Can anyone help ? thanks
