MemberWelcome to BBB Iceyblue!
Well for us to help you better, you must provide more information like;
1. PC’s operating system (XP, 2k) and other details about your PC,
2. Any changes you made in your system before the problem occurs?
3. (skip this if your OS is not XP) try looking for Windowblinds in your system to see if it is installed there, and if you are not using it, better to have it uninstalled, or if you are using it, just configure it to ignore Y!M.(this software has been known to have issues with Y!M)Any information that you think is related to your problem will definitely help in solving your problem (let’s hope we can). 😉

MemberI am having the same problem with my yahoo messenger. I am on XP OS. No changes either, that I can remember.
I even tried going into the add/remove programs to repair it and it gets just about done repairing and a box pops up asking for me to:
Enter the full pathname to the installation file with the following attributes: 11/08/05 / 8:10:40 / 71680
source pathname: C:DOCUME~1OwnerLOCALS~1TempGLB1325.tmpI hit ok and nothing happens. I exit out of it because I have no idea what to do and it closes the entire process down.
I even have done a system restore to prior dates when I know the messenger was working, and this worked a few times, but eventually it happens again. Now it seems that no matter how far I go back to prior dates it not working.
I NEED MY YAHOOOOOOO!
Please help! I cant even remove it from my computer now and I have tried to reinstal it and it still pops on and then pops off.
thought I was the only one with this problem.
ThanksNovember 8, 2005 at 5:17 pm #133137tinethle

ThanksHello jerseygirl.
Just outta curiousity, have you tried booting in safe mode, and then goto add/remove -uninstall messenger, see if it works that way.
Make sure you dont have the messenger program running when you try to uninstall-because it will fail.I havent had this problem before so I dont know how to resolve it unfortunately, but safe mode might be one possible solution.Or manually removing the yahoo messenger folder either(making sure you back up your archives first-so you wont loose all your pms conversations)
good luck

Gets to photosharing and will not continue. I dont know what to do. Does anyone have an older version of yahoo or a link I can use. Memberseem like this is a prevalent problem with yahoo messenger lately….i too had the same problem as jersy girl…i am running on an xp home edition and i keep getting a message anytime i install anything higher than mess.ver 5.6….the message states..You do not have access to make the required system configuration modifications. Please rerun this installation from an administrators account.
User Rights: Admin<<<<<—-that is the kicker…i AM logged on as an admin……i have also run a attempted repair program and recieved the same message as jersy girl…ver 5.6 is ok…but i want 6 or 7…..i had it before but my girlfriend ran ballistic on me and deleted all my messenger program…….i even went so far as to regedit my comp for any previous versions of messenger…..i have mess ver…7 saved on my desktop and i have deleted and reinstalled about 20 times now with no luck……i was told that java may have some type of influence over this program by i have even deleted and reinstalled that….CAN ANYBODY HELP????? i am at my wits end….i even installed the program in safe mode under the administrator account…also no luck……thanks in advance for any help……November 8, 2005 at 9:10 pm #133143IceyBlue

MemberJust to follow up-I did a search for GLB1325.tmp and I couldnt find any info anywhere about that temp file. All I know is yahoo install temp files to the temp folder on c: drive during installation,so when you get the message “please enter the pathname” error it may mean that the temp file has been moved or deleted or corrupted,it might be part of the yahoo installer(I could be wrong though). If you know how to get to your temp folder on c: then i would have a look in there and see if the tmp file is there or not-if so delete it.The error you receive tells you how to get to the location of the tmp file(if the file is there)
In any case I would try removing the yahoo folder manually, c:/program files/yahoo and then try reinstall messy again.
Btw what version of messenger are you using?
Worse case scenario,do a system restore back to when the program was running ok,then try uninstall it.

MemberOkay I am going to try looking through temp folders. Didnt think of that. I have done the system restore when it first acted up and it worked but now no matter how far back I am going its doing the same thing. I even tried connecting to chat through the yahoo website, and i got an error and it shut down. so must be something on my puter. i am on xp.
