KeymasterI sometimes asked myself this question as well…suppose microsoft buys the iPod, what would happen?
This video shows the scenario perfectly.
Maybe not a what makes you laugh material but definitely worth smirking over.

KeymasterMade ME laugh. It really shows the philosophical differences in marketing and branding.
Very well done video, and a “must-watch” for any student of design, branding or marketing. Apple fans (and Microsoft detractors) will like it too.
Microsoft lovers won’t get it at all.

Good find, MiamiGuy. Thanks dude. 🙂

ParticipantHa ha, now that was pretty good! Interesting how true it is though, the different branding and all…I was surprised to still see them using iTunes up there, I thought surely there would be some kinda faulty plugin for Windows Media Player….

Memberthis is actually a reason I prefer microsoft over apple for many things, mainly the fact that microsoft likes to put forward the information and trys to answer as many questions as they can on the box so there’s no speculation and people know what they’re getting. Some people may not be a fan of it and may call it excessive, but hey I’m *nix guy and I don’t like apple’s policy of you don’t need to know.

Like Jeff said, it really shows you what a microsoft box is really like compared to the simple i-pod box. I don’t think i’ve ever seen a micorsoft box not full of text and costing a lot of money.

MemberHeh, made me laugh. Know why, though? Because it’s the truth! That’s all Microsoft ever does, really. Look at all their retail stuff, that’s exactly how it is down to a tee.
Great find. (+rep)
