Buddy Spy first didn’t run because of missing mswinsck, so I found it on the net and copied it to windowssystem32.
BuddySpy then asked for another OCX, so I found libraryfiles.exe, and installed as instructed.
Now BuddySpy runs, but always gives invalid username and password when I try to login.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks.
I am running XP Pro SP2 fully updated.
Did you test the yahoo ID you’re trying to login on yahoo messenger? It could possibly be banned. You may need to register the ocx file/s using regsrv32,I think libraryfiles.exe just covers the dll files
To do this :
from your desktop, click start/run (copy and pasteone of the below-depending on which operating system you have and hit enter)
example:
Windows 95, 98, or Me:
regsvr32 windowssystemmswinsck.ocx
Windows NT or 2000:
regsvr32 WINNTsystem32mswinsck.ocx
Windows XP:
regsvr32 windowssystem32mswinsck.ocx
You should see a message saying “DllRegisterServer … succeeded
In the future any ocx file/s you put in your system32 folder but sure to use regsrv32 as well, just to make sure it registered properly. You may also be missing more ocx files
perhaps unsakred can help more.
Hope this helped.
