ParticipantIn MS word whenever I put in clipart, picture and even Wordart they never show up until you click on them, then after that when you open something over Work like a website they disappear again until they are clicked. Also when you go to format Wordart (like the coloring effects) it never shows up on the Wordart itself or even in the Format box, I just get gray boxes where colors are supposed to be. Also it runs really slow, even when I have 350+ ram free with nothing running in the background. I use MS Office XP professional version. Anyone have any suggestions? I am going to go to the Word update page on the MS website to see if that helps.

MemberSounds like a problem with video memory. When you overlay one object on top of another, your video card stores the “image” of what is beneath in memory, so that when you move whatever is ontop again, you can quickly see what is beneath without waiting for the computer to figure it out.
When you run into the kind of weirdness that you’re describing, it usually means that you’re running out of video memory. How much memory does your video card have?
Also the higher your screen resolution and color depth are, the more video memory will be used. You might try taking the resolution down a notch to see if that helps.
It could simply be a driver problem, although that seems unlikely. Still, it never hurts to make sure you’ve got updated drivers for your video card.

Participantmy video card has 128 MB of memory, it ran on my old computer fine with only 8 MB of video memory so I am lost, also it never did this before just started a few weeks ago, I’ll try lowering my resolution and color depth, but I really like a higher resolution 🙁
