Ok i have windows me and the msn beta doesn’t work for me, why?! it say look for the site and download it again i did…

Okay people, I can solve your problem:D, cuz it happened to me as well:mad:. whats happening is that, like me, you have Windows ME. the thing that shows up says something about windows installer. the program “windows installer”[/b] on windows ME is at too low a version to install MSN 6.0. what you need to do is download a higher version of windows installer first. do a google search for “download windows installer 2.0”[/b] look around until you find somthing that works, and after you install that (sorry it involvs restarting the computer :() you can download MSN messenger 6.0. it’s really fun!!:D
hey u guyz i wanted to ask about the patches for msn 6.0.0268 coz i got the older version b4 which is 0.0260 and got the ad remover and games patches and all but then i cudnt log on to the messenger if i wont dl the new one so then im obliged but now i cant find the newer versions of those patches i got..
Well, I got Window me and 89, I download msn 6.0, and everything is fine until i sign in, it kept signing in, i got pissed off then i typed ctrl + alt and del then i saw it said ” MSN Messenger {not responding} i was like do it all over and over but it is not working! i got pissed off! tell me what was i supposed to do?

That you have Windows ME. I now that all the good guys say that its the best and so on. BUT IT ISN’T..
If your MSN dosn’t work, maybe you have downloaded the wrong version…
Remeber to look wich version you download…

OK I tired everything that was already posted but it still wont work…..It always freezes and in the ctrl alt delete thign it always says not responding:mad: Any Ideas??:confused:
ok i have a problem i downloaded the internet explorer 2.0 thing then i downloaded msn 6.0. that worked, only now it wont let me sign in at all! it says my user name doesnt exist or my password is incorrect omg yes they are!!! what is wrong with this stupid msn 6!!!:mad:
I Have Windows ME and i try to install msn messenger 6.0. But i get two messages “Msn messeger setup has failed with error code: “1603”. Please go to the MSN messenger website and sowland the software from there.” and “unknown/installer/upgradecodes/BBC7D63AD5782E84EB178662D820A2. Verify that you have surficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.” so if anyone could help or have any “?”‘s to ask me write back 🙂
~my msn 6.0 also doesn’t work, first, i open the msn 6.0, then after a few seconds, it disappears onto the taskbar, then, when i put my mouse over it, wanting to click on it, it disappears from the taskbar before i can click on it:(. my platform is windows xp~ some one, help me!

Heh, too true, Windows ME truly isn’t the best Windows out there..it has memory leaks, security holes..urgh..
well wont agree with all the stuff above MSN 6 and ME…. Well all those who posted that WINDOWS ME is bad and stuff made me believe this also, but something forced me to switch back to ME (curious, look other posts, I have told why) and downloaded the ver for ME… the file name was setup9x.exe (sounds like a file for windows 95/98 but its working) and the URL for download is

ME is giving me no bugs for any installation error or not signing me in….
