RabidKitten
ParticipantI’ve actually seen many sorts of questions about MSN chatroom bots…and since I’m lazy (I’m a Kitten for crying out loud!) I thought that perhaps this was the best way to get it across. You’re more than welcome to go and delete it if need be.
Alright, there seem to be many questions about “how do I get a MSN chat bot” “what is it” “where is it” Et. cetera, and while I’m no genius and I’m no pro at this deal, I’ve come across one that seems to work swimmingly.
Firstly, I’ll let you know what I use it for. I host a room, in MSN (obviously) called Mirtanna Manor’. It is a Medieval/Fantasy RP room and if you dont know what it is, ask a geek and I’m sure they’ll explain it *giggle*
But yes, Mirtanna has a bit of a problem with hosting and people coming in and being rude because…you know…we’re dorks 😀 So yes, I use my bot (who I call Havard, meaning “Guardian of the Home”) to open the room each day, putting up a kicking list, sometimes a host list, but most of the time just owner and host passwords that those allowed know and then I go away and leave it up. That way I am free to change the topic (which is what we use to set time of day and such) and mediate, but also the scrollers and the rude people can be thrown out and those allowed to host, can.So, actually, before I go any further, let me tell you what this bot is. As mentioned before by some I think, it’s called the IRC Dominator XT, and it’s a very simple bot to use. It uses a made and supported passport to let you into and create rooms, and very easy to understand. I personally found it at a site (after about 3 hours of searching) http://www.haines.vze.com/ but there’s also a great sort of help guide here… http://www.geocities.com/myths_bot_world/ABOUTIRCDOMINATOR.html
So if that really sounds like anything you’re looking for, then go check it out. Remember that you need to keep your computer on and awake for the bot to remain active…but other than that, I do believe that the guide will answer any questions that you may have.

KeymasterVery cool R-K. Did you check out Shifter’s recent article on MSN Chat Room Bots? How does IRC Dominator compare with ViperBot?
