I have windows 98SE. Whenever I install msn messenger 7.0 and when I sign on everything is ok, but few mins. later I get that error stating “has encountered a problem and needs to close…etc.” Why does this happen on msn messenger 7.0? Any solutions?
As far as I’m aware, v7 does require Windows XP. I tried it on a 98 machine once and had similar problems.
Course, you could always use the not as good Windows Messenger.
What Tkey and MartinBradley said is incorrect, MSN Messenger 7.0 is fully compatible and stable on Windows 98 (I have a few contacts online right now who are using it on 98). It is MSN Messenger 7.5 that requires XP.
