This is my first thread, and i really need help with this. When i open msn messenger and press the sign in button i get the following message:
There is a problem connecting you to the MSN Messenger. Click Troubleshoot for help with this problem.
Error code:

The troubleshooter has determined that you may not have internet connectivity. But the problem is i am connected to the internet, so if anyone has any idea of how to solve this problem, it would be much appreciated.

MemberWelcome to BigBlueBall.
Do a forum search for the error code you specify, as it has already been discussed before, and chances are that you may find possible solutions. Thanks.

ParticipantThere is a site called Msn problems, http://www.msn-problems.com/forum/index.php
From there I obtained the following solution:To register the Windows digital signature files
On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Run.
At the prompt, type the following:regsvr32 softpub.dll wintrust.dll initpki.dll dssenh.dll
rsaenh.dll gpkcsp.dll sccbase.dll slbcsp.dll cryptdlg.dllAnd hope it works.

ParticipantDo you have any types of software or hardware that might be blocking the connection such as a firewall?

MemberProblem is solved…all i done was run spyware again and when i restarted my computer it worked, although this was the second time i tryed this so i’m not sure why it hadn’t worked the first time. Thanks for all your help.

MemberOkay, I’ve had this problem a couple times and (for me, anyways) it’s often caused by a problem with my wireless router. Hopefully running the spyware works permanently, but if not and you’re on a router, try restarting it. Usually works for me. Good luck and welcome!
