yea i have contacted microsoft…..but they didnt even help..they just told me the requirements, but my computer meets all of it.
Hello, I also have the greyed out ‘Find Target’ and ‘Change Icon’ in MSN messenger. I think MicroSoft are up to something with this because I have a prog called Startup Cop, which I disabled the startup for msnmsgr.exe and it said yes to that. Minutes later, I open Startup Cop again and it has been re-enabled!
MicroSoft are so sneaky, they are obviously doing this for a reason. You can now receive advertisements through messenger. This is MicroSofts doing, they are probably selling the advertising space to companies left right and center.
Its bad enough with emails (spam) but Bill Gates would sell his parents if he thought he could get away with it.
These PC’s dont belong to MS they belong to US the buyer. Why does MSN have to start with windows? Why does Windows guard this msnmsgr.exe with its life?
We are being spied on by MicroSoft through it, its obvious.
MicroSoft are the scum of the earth.
By the way my messenger works well…too well for my liking.
There is an option in MSN Messenger to disable automatic start-up. Go to Tools -> Options -> General Tab -> Uncheck Automatically Run Messenger when I log on to Windows.
As for the remainder of your comments, I think you are being far too paraniod. Microsoft offers you a free IM client and keeps it in development through its use of ad sales. This is not a new thing and neither is spam, and I don’t see what Microsoft has to do with it.
If you dislike Microsoft so very much, why not try using a Mac? I can’t think of a better way to support competitive pricing and development of alternative software.
