I was just wandering why the other day My Computer started to look all cluttered and the dividing lines (that section it into drives, folders, ect) disappeared.
Here’s a screenshot:
I believe that’s simply a view setting. If you click that box next to the Folders Icon at the top, you should be able to change your view option back to how you like it. I’m not using an XP system at the moment so I’m just giving you my best guess until I can verify at home.
I tried that before I posted, it doesn’t work.
Here’s a picture I found somewhere on the web of how it used to look.

On the My Computer screen, right click–>arrange icons by–> see if the “show in groups” is checked or not. If not, then there’s your problem.
