Memberwell, if you can no longer access the account at all, then you can kiss it goodbye. There are many programs floating around yahoo for account hacking lately. You really need to learn more about internet security. Another thing you should practice is making a better password, one that uses the max limit of 13 characters and contains a mixture of numbers and letters. Most name lists (used for password cracking programs) are based on words and simple number sequences…be creative. Most will give up b4 they ever get close to cracking it. You may want to contact Yahoo about the account even though they WILL NOT recover it for you. What they may do is just completely close the account (usually for 90-120 days b4 being released again as available). For more info on this subject refer to this post since this question has already been answered recently https://bigblueball.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10836
To learn more about internet security and passwords I recommend http://security.yahoo.com/ and to contact Yahoo visit http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/privacy/cgi_feedback?radio30=radio305

MemberWell, many people don’t like to hear bad news. I would try using the search function on this site, the issue is discussed quite a bit. Maybe you’ll find another way, like I know Yahoo! will let you pay to get it back. Doc also gave you good advice to search your PC for trojans.

Memberthat is what I told you right off the bat, “kiss the account goodbye.” The only way you will get the account back is to steal it back. As far as the rest of the information not being helpful???? I strongly disagree. I would take a second opinion from anybody else, but its your choice whether you use the information I provided ( just don’t be surprised when you lose another account). Actually, if my memory serves me correctly, you had another post previously about an account being stolen…oh yes…https://bigblueball.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10834 ( your girlfriend’s account). Anyhow, I would recommend you try these things I have mentioned…you could be a victim of “magic password stealer,” a keylogger, trojan, or a simple hack..i don’t know for sure which one so I recommended solutions for all possibilities. Sorry if you don’t find it helpful. Good luck!

MemberTheres a few ways to get a name back, one is to call:
Yahoo! Inc.
701 First Avenue
Sunnyvale, California 94089
Phone: (1-)408 731-3300
Phone: (1-)408-349-3300
Fax: (1-)408-349-3301Or you can email them through this link:
http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/edit/cgi_feedback
If you email they will respond and ask you for the details of you’re account, if you give them the correct info that you had on you’re account, they will email you a new password. The info required is:
Yahoo id, country, zipcode, birthday, alternate email, answer to you’re challenge question.
I think they want the info from when the account was created, if an id was made pre 8-98 or around there then it probably won’t have a challenge question. The main thing here is whether or not you put you’re actual info when you made the account, or if you put bogus info, if you put you’re info on the account, odds are you can recover it. That should cover it. If you’re account was stolen, the only info they likely changed was you’re zip code, an possibly you’re alternate email. I would try the zips 123456 an 90210 those are the two most common zips used, and also you need to try an figure out how the account was taken to prevent it in the future, and also if you know who took it, try their zip code(s) if you know where they are from.

MemberHe gave you a phone number…..you might have a real person answer the phone. Johnson was nice enough to put a lot of the info you would have gotten from search all right here for you. Am I the only one reading the posts completely? If you want your account back badly enough you are going to have to do the work yourself. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
