MemberWelcome to BigBlueBall.
Can you give us some more information about your system please, such as the version of Yahoo Messenger that you’re running, and anything else which you consider relevant. The more information you give us, the higher the chance is of getting a solution which works.
Thanks.

MemberCould your text colour be white when you are typing in your messenger? Check the colour of your text. If it was some how changed to white you may not be able to see it. Also, please give the information mentioned in Martin’s post above if the text is not the case. Thanks.

MemberDear fetus,
You do not provide enough information to give a very positive answer, but here what you might want to try.
1) Click the Tools menu on your Internet Explorer toolbar and select Internet Options.
2) Click the Security tab.
3) Click the Internet (globe) icon and click the Custom Level button or Default Level button.
4) Scroll down to Scripting. Enable the following:
*Active scripting
*Allow paste operations via script
*Scripting of Java applets (enabled all).Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.
5) Restart YM!
Hope this will solve your problem

Membersorry for lack of info….
i am running xp pro and the latest version of Y!messenger…..
i already tried changing the color of the text…tried highlighting the text and copying it……nothing.
my IE has been acting up, as well as my windows media player will not open up at all. *says internal error on media player*
so im thinking i have a bad virus that my anti-virus software isnt finding.
i also run spybot and that didnt work either.BUT i have installed trillian, and that works for me. So i will probably just use trillian until i figure out what is wrong with my system, or just buy a damn mac. i am so about to get a new mac notebook just to not worry about adware and virus…..etc….

MemberI would say to reformat, but that would take too long, and then u would have to install everything again. U may want to try a system restore if possible too. Run an online virus scan. Hopes this helps.;)

MemberHi fetus,
It looks like you have tried all the solutions from those who posted earlier, but have you try my solution yet? I’m just wondering =P
If you have problems opening IE, try to right click it and choose properties, that should get you into its Internet Properties, you can also use the Control Panel to get in.

Memberthis sounds strange…
I hope u are not using white fonts colors .. please double check the font colors.February 16, 2005 at 10:09 pm #114595SS_AntiHacker
MemberHi fetus,…again =P
The problem is not because of YM!. I think the problem is with your Internet Explorer. YM! needs scripting capabilities to function correctly, as well as Flash Player. If you have no way of fixing your I.E then you should try to backup all your data and re-install windows from scratch.
Any better solutions out there people? =)

MemberThe exact same thing is happening to me, I can’t even delete emails or compose in yahoo, nor can I even access
my gmail account, certain sites I cannot use because when I click the next, go etc button it does nothing.
someone else has complained about in yim you can see the text you type but when you press enter it disappears, well
the recipient can see it but not you, I couldn’t even reply on this forum because it would not let me write in the
box so I had to write it in note pad and paste it.( I changed the interface) something is seriously wrong, when we try to reinstall windows they say it
will not install because the files on the computer are new than the ones on the CD, I.E. the updates from the internet
I really d not know what to do. I am also runningWindows XP
Home edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2256 ram, 2.39GHz and CPU 2.40GHz
latest version of messenger, and media player (but as the post wrote it doesn’t work, because of internal error)
maybe I should contact Microsoft?but if anyone else has a solution I will try
BTW I am a newbie, been ghosting but now I’m posting 🙂
