Ok, I am planning on getting this DVD burner (any good?), and I was wandering do you use DVD-R for backing up movies? Also if I get 16x DVD-Rs and the DVD burner of goes to 12x can I burn at 12x? (I beileve there is a firmware upgrade from Toshiba that will allow it to burn at 16x, here[bottom of page], but the link didn’t work)
Oh and here are the blank DVDs I plan on getting.
It looks fine to me. And yes, you can still burn onto the discs at 12x, which is the maximum the drive allows. The 16x on the discs is just a maximum speed for the discs.
And that is also a yes for the DVD type question… I read somewhere that DVD-R have a 92% chance of playing in a standard DVD player, but I want to be sure, DVDs arn’t that cheap.
Also is DVD Decrypter really illegal, I mean I thought you could make personal copies for personal use… this is why I inquire…
