MemberI don’t know anyone else that has the beta but i’m curious to know of the improvements and additions and how they are working?
I know that the file transfer for me always was having problems making direct connections and wondering if Beta has improved that? Also curious as to the improved sound quality of Yahoo?? Do you really notice a difference? Lastly the PHOTO SHARE option. I am curious how well it works especially in comparison to MSN PHOTO SWAP?
Thank you in advance for your responses!

MemberI’ve written a full review of the new Beta version which may be made available to the public soon, Jeff has the final choice on that one.
It discusses the improved sound quality, similar to Skype, mentions the improved photo sharing and file sharing. I can say that file sharing has been improved in the way that drag and drop file sharing is now included.

MemberYeah, there is a difference in voice now. They sound kind of like a normal phone. The thing I really find interesting is how there’s no “voice” option anymore, it’s just the “call computer” option. So now through Yahoo! you “call” peoples’ computers lol. You might just be sitting there and all the sudden you hear a ringing and it tells you (username) is calling. If you don’t pick up they can leave a voicemail up to a 120 seconds long. So overall it is better.
One SERIOUSLY annoying “feature” of it that I found was that if you play music to a friend or something of the like by setting the sound to go directly from your computer, Yahoo! will continually turn down the volume lower and lower until it’s so quiet my friend couldn’t even hear what I was playing. I had to sit there like an idiot and keep sliding the bar back up everytime it went down again. And no, my computer isn’t messed up lol, it didn’t do this with the normal voice on Yahoo! Messenger 6. I tried looking in settings and nowhere can you find anything on it “auto-adjusting” the volume that you’re giving off. Hopefully this bug will be fixed by its final release.
Whew! Besides that, I think they’ve made a lot of improvements…althought I’m not sure if it deserves to be called Yahoo! Messenger 7…maybe Yahoo! Messenger 6.5 would of been better.
