I’m trying to install AIM 5.2 and the installation always fails. When I run the program, it just shows the icon in the systray and nothing else happens. Uninstalling, reinstalling does not work. AIM 4.8 is the last version that will work.
I’m running Windows 2000. What could be wrong? 🙁
did u download the right file…for windows 2000? if u did…make sure ur not running ne thing..and maybe that would be the problem but i dunno dude…or trying closing the icon in the systray
There’s no other version on there other than the Mac version. The little AIM icon doesn’t have a menu either, nothing happens when I click on it. I have to CTRL ALT DEL out of the damned thing.
…..
ya try that………
Did all of that (several times) and AIM is still dead on the tray.
…..
I am talking about the system tray. AIM asks me if I would like to set it as the default messenger, and I say yes or no. Then it sits on the system tray and either does not respond or it disappears when I hover over it. I am using Task Manager to close as many applications as I can, including all AIM processes. It is definitely not running.
o0o0o0o….click yes thats what i did….
I tried both. Doesn’t matter what I do, anything after AIM 4.8 will not work anymore. 🙁
just stick with the AIM u have now…or something…or go to http://www.aim.com and find out
