MemberHello, I am new to using bulletins. A friend in yahoo chat gave me the link BigBlueBall to see if I could get help with yahoo messenger. So far I haven’t seen anyone who has posted the same “glich” I have. It seems I go invisible while chatting but when I try to reboot the room (even after rebooting messenger) I can’t get back in. Does anyone have suggestions on what I can do on my own other than contact yahoo? I would appreciate any advice. Thanks and you have a great forum!

MemberThis actually did this to me last night. LOL. Generally when it happens ( and yes its done this a few times), I go to my yahoo/messenger/cache folder and delete everything in it then reboot my machine and it always works. Hope this help’s , other than that I have no idea why it does this

KeymasterLast night I was chatting with someone and as I sent the message to him in the yahoo pm window it didn’t show up, I couldn’t see it. He said he recieved it. I then went to my archives to see if it was there and it was but I am still lost on why it disappeared on my screen.

MemberThanks untamedkreation, I’ll give that a try. Do you have to do that everytime it happens? (the invisivle font)

MemberI usually clean my cache out about once a day, more or less cause I hate temp files cluttering my system up. Also on another note, I have noticed that using YTunnel 334, it will do the same effect. Will sign on fine then if I sit idle on yahoo for awhile Yahoo will log out and either wont log back in, or it will log in and I wont be able to join and rooms. I just close it all out clean my caches and can generally sign back on. I know its Messenger because I have a clone I made and it will sign right on no problems while Messenger acts screwy

I suggest dodge the whole messenger thing seems how its one of the easyest ways for you to loose your Yahoo ID and other information and Try Using the Online Chat 2.0 see if your name logs in there if so Most likley thats the Problem..

I guess you needn’t believe me (yes, I just MIGHT be ever so slightly biased 😉 ) – but I swear that BigBlueBall here is a far better faster friendlier wiser place to get help for your YM than the “official channels” of Yahoo Help!
(And the same probably applies to 2 or 3 other “forum” sites too).Sorry I can’t comment on your specific problem this time – it’s not something that ever happens to me – but if you’re just a little bit patient, and a little bit persistent, there’s invariably someone around this forum who can offer good advice.
I hope you will persevere here. Don’t be afraid to ask questions! 😎

Messenger servers. From time to time there are some problems with the yahoo servers. Big network, after all. 😉

MemberThis has happened to me far to many times.
What I do is try to “force my font” by typing random keys then sending it to chat till someone replies with “I see you”
I.E

Seems to wrk pretty good for me lol, hope it helps you and it does’nt tick off anyone you’re in chat with.

Memberhi zephyr, I would just like to ask; do you mean you cant get into any room when you reboot the “chatrooms”?
Before, when the user created rooms were still available, when I got “filtered”, meaning no one can see my post but myself, I would go out of the room and try to get back. But then, I cant enter the room again, so what I usually do is to enter another room then just go back again to the room where my ID was before. I believe this is due to Yahoo! servers thinking that the ID is still on that room, that is why I cant enter the room. Well, I just shared my experience, you can try my “method” of room busting. 😀August 10, 2006 at 1:11 pm #40803Dermot
ParticipantWell this problem had exsisted a long time.
Usually i believe its a filter system by yahoo for people using too many font tags.
like your usual “dim bots” using white text between other coloured text to spam.
If you lose text try and type in “emotion mode” or “think mode”
typing : before your text will enable Emotion text
typing /think before your text will enable think text
Usually the filter yahoo put on the tags does not effect these two types of chat sends as they dont send tags whatsoever!
If your normal text gets removed for the “flood timeout” try the two above and after a while of using them your normal text should return.
This can happen in Yahoo! 3rd party chat clients in a instant altering your <font inf tags which are used to display your build, time, protocol etc, as the yahoo! network will filter abnormal tags!
If you have a font fade blend in your text try removing some of the colours to hinder it happening too much.
Not sure if the problem is Connection related but has been an issue a while, as a Yahoo! trivia room user i see people have to leave and change id’s regular just to be able to type answers.
