MemberHi cupcake, I have had problem where I could hear the other party but they could not hear me. Aftre long struggle, I found out that my ISP (internet service provider) had blocked the “port” that Yahoo uses for Voice chat/conference. But that does not look like your problem. You are saying you can’t hear the sound. This means that the speakers are NOT functioning for some reason. Have you tried to go to Control Panel/ Sound, Speech & Audio Devices/ Sound and Audio Devices and follow all the TABs and Buttons to chekc out the MIC and Speakers settings?
Check this out and see if that helps. This is for Windows XP. Let us know how it turns out.August 24, 2005 at 3:04 pm #128188cupcake

MemberWhen you say you here no music, how are you trying to play it? Yahoo Music? or is it a bigger problem like CD’s. In other words, is the problems with sounds confined to Yahoo? Or is it thruout your PC.
If this problem is more of a computer problem than a Yahoo messenger problem it may need to be moved to the Computer help section. If this is the case I can move the topic.
