ParticipantThank to Ryan (MrEggsalad) for telling me about this.
It’s been confirmed! Opera will be released June 30 for about $30 as a standard Nintendo DS game card! Full browsing on both screens, with on screen keyboard. Also a TV tuner has been confirmed, but so far only a Japanese only technology, no news on US TV formats/wireless signals.
With just a Wi-Fi enabled DS and the Opera card, within 5 seconds of turning on the unit, you’re on the web! I am so excited, I must share the news, this is perfect! Opera, my favorite browser, and Nintendo DS, my favorite handheld, TOGETHER! For all you Opera haters, you have to admit Opera has one of the greatest web rendering engines, it’s greatly faster and superior to most browsers, in fact it’s the faster browser I have used, and that same technology will be on the DS!
Also, Opera is know, not only for their Desktop Browser, but also for their award winning Opera|Mobile series, which are designed to run on mobile devices, optimized for low power systems (in terms of processing power).
Also it has stated that it will have the same support and stability as Opera’s current Opera 8.52 Desktop browser.
Rumors:
-Voice browsing commands (it’s already on their desktop browser)
-tabbed browsing-Sources:

ParticipantYeah, I read about this on Engadget. That is absolutely awesome.. though I don’t play portable games that much, I do dig the Nintendo DS, and I have been considering buying one. If they sold the TV and web-enabled DS here in America, I would definetely buy one.

ParticipantThe Web will be like a game you buy, and it will be available in the US. The TV, we need more news.
