Not sure this is in the right forum… I have privacy set so that only people on my buddylist can contact me, due to assholes. I know that OSIs work by checking if you’re online. Is there any screen name to add to my buddy list to make the OSI work? TIA
uh…no.
OSI won’t work if you don’t set your privacy setting to Allow all users to contact you.
It says so right in the FAQ.
Let me confirm what DangerBoy is saying. There is no screenname to add that can help you. You need to set your privacy setting to Allow all to get it to work. All other settings hides your online status, which kind of makes sense; if you don’t allow everyone to contact you, why would you let everyone see your online status?
Just to ask one question, though (not that this is an issue for me). At one time, I know OSI’s used an MSN screen name to connect and get the status of the user in question (like a bot), correct? (I don’t know if this has changed, though) If that is true, theoretically, if you add the OSI’s MSN Screen Name, would that not solve the problem?

That’s what I mean… was just wondering.
The frickin creator of OSI just said there is no username to add that will help you. If there used to be, there ain’t no more so who gives a crap. Your question is answered.
