MemberOk….there is something new happnening with my messenger…perhaps this is an old problem… but I did not see it anywhere. I am getting phantom noises…. the noises you get when someone connects (Knock-Knock-Knock) but there is no one new online…. then some time later I get the (Squeeeeeeeeek….Boom) but no one has gone offline. I also do not get the little warning along the bottom…. b/c no one….according to what I see has gone on or offline. Is this happening to anyone else?? Is this just part of the healing process of what was going on before??:rolleyes:Or is it just silly old Yahoo!?

MemberBut that’s happened before and I’ve seen them… this is just sound. I recently erased some contacts… it has happened on more than just one account too… that’s why I thought it was a bit strange.

MemberWell Kiddo, I know this isn’t probably what you want to hear, but I think its probably just Yahoo being off balanced again. I have had some pretty strange things happen to me on this thing. I tend to leave it on all the time when I can and sometimes I’m in front of it and sometimes I’m not. I’ve even seen people log off that aren’t on my list. I’ve also heard phantom noises and just thought I wasn’t quick enough to the draw to see them come and go (if that makes sense) Too many vinos tonite! 😉

MemberIve had that happen oreo, even had it happen when i had yahoo open and in front of me instead of minimized to the system tray, was going to msg a friend and had both of those happen, almost at the same time a couple of times which sounds really weird, but nobody came on or left. I havnet seen anybody not on my list yet though.

MemberI have had a few more odd things happen to me tonight. Including not fully being able to sign into one of my accounts… trying to sign into another one… and suddenly having the same thing happen… then trying a third (Yeah I have that many… one for personal, one for work and one for those people who make you give them your e-mail address… uh… yeah… um… I still love ya BlueBall!) Anyway, when I finally was signed in… I saw the name of the original account sign off. It was really strange b/c I could not sign into it. And I eventually had to restart my PC and it said it was adding new software…though I had not clicked on any links or anything. Is someone trying to snake me?? Eventually, I was able to sign into all of my accounts again. But I still have an eerie feeling that something is not quite right. Maybe it’s something I ate… but I don’t know. Any thoughts….. thanks for your answers so far… at least I know that I am not completely crazy.

MemberI have found over the years that when I remove someone from my friends list BUT had put thier email address into my emails address book, I would still get notices of them coming on line and going off line. I kinda can understand Yahoo! having that happen *it being like cross signals*. It used to still show thier nicname in the bottom right corner of my screen too, But I would double check and yup they were not on my friends list. So check to see if the people you removed from your friends list are still in your address book. I bet so, then just remove thier email address from your address book. Good Luck!

MemberHad a new one with yahoo last night, not sure if its one of yahoo’s ongoing problems or not. Was turning on my cam so my g/f could see me, and she turned on hers, well i would get the view webcam thing and say yes, and she would get mine for my cam. Well as soon as she clicked on mine yahoo and an error and shut down, did that about 5 times, finally i clicked on hers, waited awhile and then sent my invite to her and it worked fine after that. Even every time after that if one of us got knocked off or something i would do that and it worked. Just love yahoo though.

MemberThat cam stuff can get wacky sometimes. I think it might depend on how many people are using them sometimes. And who knows what kind of funky programs people send to screw up cams too. Try to pay attention to all of the things that are happening… perhaps there is a cominiation of something that does that to the cams… I am going to keep a log of mine as well… b/c it has had occasion to do the same thing… perhaps if a few of us do it… we will discover the answer and inform Yahoo! as well as the forum.

Memberoreo, no offense but you are WAY too paranoid, you need to lighten up a lil and have fun online, yahoo can be really whacky, i have had all these problems in the past, and they are nothing out of the ordinary, i personally have no sounds on yahoo , all of mine are disabled, yahoo really has the most annoying sound alerts possible, you’d think they would change them, drive me nuts when i hear em on other people’s pc’s in voice, one thing i notice that no one i talk to notices, is that when someone on my friends list goes offline, it will show aliases off their id going offline as well, lol i use this against people, some people will have info on their other profiles that’s not on their main one, and u can mess with them a lil HAHA!

In fact we DO notice that and it HAS been previously posted. You’re new so I would not expect you to know that. BUT…as far as being paranoid….I hardly think so…after reading your MANY recent posts it sounds like you like to do many of the things the rest of us find…well…really crappy…to put it a nice way. If you mess with innocent people, perhaps your nick suits you.

MemberHe giveth and he taketh away, I’m the kinda person who don’t bs around, i tell it like it is, I am giving an educated opionion about things you people are misinformed about, in order for you to take measures to avoid having unfortunate things happen to you, If i mess with anyone, trust me they deserve it, like a lot of these so called hackers, i eat these guys for breakfast, I am up for answering any questions you have, if someone loses an account, and is asking for help in recovering it, i am always willing to give a helping hand, if you have ever tried talking to some of the people who work for yahoo, or god forbid one of the admins, it can be a pain in the butt to get anything accomplished unless you know what you are doing. As far as stealing ids, i rarely do it anymore, it’s not as easy as it used to be, nowadays it’s much simpler to just get them deactivated, but yahoo is even catching onto that.
